Father's Day Memorial June 17,2012

June 17,2012  is a very special day for me . It's "Fathers Day,"  and my (late) Dad -Samuel, was   "Tops"  to me, see I was  his  baby girl, (his only girl).Would I say I was spoiled  rotten, yes, any thing I wanted,  my Dad would buy -out-right,  or lay-away.I miss my Dad very much. Did I tell you, my Dad, took me to school  on my  first day, I was holding on to his pinky finger with my hand, and when we reached Cleveland School, and started in side,I started pulling back ,away from my Dad.  But he said "you must stay here, you have to go to school Mary, you have to learn."  I did not want to hear what he was saying,  but I listerned anyway. I grew to love school, loved learning new and exciting things, reading about different cultures, worlds, people:  Life. I will  always love and remember  my Father, he was my inspirtation, to Learn, to grow, to explore.

May is Totally Mothers Month- Mine at least....

My most treasured memories are many, but the most that stands out tonite is this; May 11, was my "mom's birthday, she was born in 1915,in the (small city) at that time ; Athens ,Ga. She was the seventh child, and the second girl, in her family of 12, having 8 brothers ,and only one younger than she. Her "mom" passed when my mom was only 8 years old, in1923.( I inherited her winter coat, with the fur collar,) and still have til now.My mom inherited the solid wood 5 drawer chest dresser.  And I have it now, use to hold my clothes.

Picture of my Mother Minister Ovella C. Grier and my son Minister Terence Grier of Cranford, N.J.,photo, was taken in 1998.  She was wearing her beautiful  white dress,  so lovely, she looked.  And "T' was really pressed also.

My "mom"  passed  Nov.9,2005.  that date is important also, it was my parents 65th wedding Anniv. My Father passed Feb.23,2002.age  82,   And Mom was 90 yrs young.

My Dad use to say," Ovella, you know you robbed the cradle, " see my dad was  5 years younger than  my Mom.

Another birthday, without her, and ( 6) Mother's Days without her, she was greatly loved and more greatly missed. But life must go on...........
